Intuit Dome Groundbreaking

City Design Studio, as part of the design with AECOM, Anderson Barker, and Hood Design Studio, celebrated the groundbreaking of Intuit Dome, future home of the LA Clippers. City Design Studio designed the Plaza Buildings shaping the Event Plaza that energizes the Clippers fans as they arrive for games and events, and a strategically oriented pedestrian bridge over Prairie Avenue that connects the Plaza Buildings to the major parking structure. The Intuit Dome is designed for optimal and intimate engagement of community and fans, with a visually dynamic and structurally efficient silhouette. It will be defined by a steel frame with diagrid geometry, inspired by the elegant form of a basketball net as a ball passes through it. Intuit Dome will embrace both enhanced environmental performance and fan experience, taking advantage of the Southern California climate through an indoor-outdoor approach that allows for a naturally ventilated entrance and upper concourse.
